Can Stem Cells Be Used for ALS?

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative condition that affects motor function. While the precise cause of the condition is unknown, some experts believe that the disease may be a result of an underlying dysfunction with a critical neuroprotein known as TDP-43.

Symptoms of ALS

Symptoms of ALS are progressive and may include:

  • Leg Weakness
  • Hand weakness
  • Slurred Speech
  • Muscle Cramps
  • Excessive Choking
  • Cognitive Dysfunctions
